University of Kentucky Libraries is adding another stamp to its passport in support of exhibitions and programs in celebration of ¡Viva Mexico!

UK Special Collections will celebrate the career of Appalachia scholar and historian Ron D. Eller with the donation ceremony of the Ron Eller Papers Nov. 8.

"When we think about a skyscraper, cathedral, or monument, we seldom ask: what was there before? Who benefited from its construction? Who lost? What could have been?" UK History professor and Pulitzer Prize nominated author Tracy A. Campbell said.

After a career spent working for the federal government and presidential libraries, UK alum Alan Lowe is the director of the George W. Bush Presidential Library, which is opening today at Southern Methodist University in Texas.

The University of Kentucky Libraries Special Collections will highlight the projects of its first full cohort of Learning Lab interns with an undergraduate panel presentation, exhibition and reception.

The upcoming University of Kentucky Libraries Annual Dinner will feature and recognize this year's Award for Intellectual Achievement recipient, journalist and author John W. Egerton.

In celebration of University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences' year-long exploration into the culture and history of Russia, UK Libraries continues "Reimagining Russia's Realms" throughout the spring semester with an exhibit of Soviet Cold War-era military posters from the UK Libraries Scott Soviet Military Collection. The free public poster exhibit will open with a Russian Tea at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the Hub at William T. Young Library.

A UK graduate has spent most of his professional life helping archive history for various presidents. In fact, Alan Lowe is currently archiving the history of former President George W. Bush.

The upcoming UK Libraries Annual Dinner will feature guest speaker and UK history alumnus Alan C. Lowe, director of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. The annual dinner will also feature the 2012 presentation of the UK Libraries Medallion for Intellectual Achievement to UK chemist John Anthony.
